Although a few finishing touches remain to be completed, Lambourn has now been transferred to the Exhibition Layouts page.

This page remains as a history of its development.

A model of  the Terminus of the Lambourn Valley Railway. Set in the period between late 1930s and the early 1950s. This will be a station to fiddle yard layout of a classic GWR branch terminus.
It is intended that operation will be by DCC.

A Track plan has been agreed, scenic area baseboards constructed, and tracklaying begun.

Track on the scenic boards has now been laid; Power bus has been installed and connected to track; point motors and decoders installed. Ballasting of the track has commenced.

31/10/2015-01/11/2015 At the G.R.E.S. show at Gravesend

After some last minute panics with the points & Signalling electrics we took the layout to its first show where all ran well. There is still plenty to do to finish the layout as there are still some elements to add (Yard crane & loading gauge, for example) and more work is required on some scenic elements. Overall though, we were pleased with the performance and learned a few things to be implemented for its next outing.
